COKE Employees volunteer for first “Go Green” Tree Planting activity

Teresa, Rizal — The very first “Go Green, Go for the Real Thing” tree planting activity was conducted on June 9, 2008 with volunteer employees of Coca-Cola Philippines taking on the challenge of jump-starting the many lined up tree-planting activities under the project.

Coca-Cola Philippines is a strategic partner and primary sponsor of the Boy Scouts of the Philippinnes for the “Go Green, Go for the Real Thing” project which was formally launched in May 2008.  The employee volunteers from various Coca-Cola offices were joined by Scouts and Scout Leaders in the activity.

The tree saplings used in the Teresa, Rizal Tree Planting activity are a product of the first Tree Nursery built under the “Go Green, Go for the Real Thing” project about half a year ago.

JB Baylon, Vice President and Director of Public Affairs & Communication of Coca-Cola Philippines, spearheaded the Coke volunteers.

Boy Scout of the Philippines President and Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay led the Boy Scouts in assisting and guiding the Coke volunteers.  Also present during the activity were: Bobby Manzano, BSP-NEB member and chair of the PR Committee; Jose Eduardo C. Delgado, BSP-NEB member and chair of the program and IT committees; J. Rizal Pangilinan, BSP Secretary General.

Teresa, Rizal Mayor Rodel Dela Cruz hosted the tree planting volunteers.  Mayor Dela Cruz also participated in the tree planting activity.
